O nā kamali‘i mākou o ka `lā hiki
No nā mokupuni ‘ākau, ‘au kai ‘ele‘ele, kuahiwi keakea
Ke hele mai nei mākou me nā Akua, nā kūpuna mai nā moku o Hokkaido,
o Honshū, o Shikoku, o Kyūshū, o ‘Okinawa mai
Ua hiki mai nei me ka wa‘a kaulua o Kamakula
Hele ha`aha`a kūlou mai nei me ka poli hāmama
Ua `ōlelo `ia, ha`alele nā kūpuna i ka wā i hala
Ke huli a`e nei mākou iā lākou
Ua halihali `ia mākou e ka wa`a i kou `āina
He `ohana paha kakou?
Pōkole nō ko mākou kipa `ana
Ke kali nei ko mākou `ohana pono`ī i ka ho`i

われらは　昇る朝日の子供たち！
われらは　北の島から,黒潮の島から、山々の峰白き島から　やってきた
われらは　神々とともに、祖先とともに
北海道、本州、四国、九州、そして沖縄から やってきた
われらの双胴カヌー『カマクラ』にのって
頭をたれ、両腕を広げ（開いたこころで）、腰を低く謙虚な心でやってきた
われらが祖先たちは　はるか昔　かの島を去ったという
われらは　その祖先を探しにやってきた　
カヌーがわれらを汝の島へと運んでくれた
われらの祖先は同じなのか？
われらは長くはとどまれぬ、　われらが家族が　帰りを待っている

We are the children of the rising sun! We are from the northern Islands,
where our ocean tides turns black, and　our mountain tops are white
We come with our Gods and our ancestors,
from Hokaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu and Okinawa
on our double hull canoe ”Kamakura”
We come humbly with our heads lowered and our arms out.
We were told that our ancestors left our islands a long time ago.
We have come to look for them,
our canoe have brought us to your Island,
Are you our ancestors ?
We will not stay long, for our families are waiting for our return.
